Lophostemon grandiflorus ssp grandiflorus

Large spreading tree, the Freshwater Mangrove is found in many creeks and river systems, and ephemeral moist areas of the Kimberley. Highly scented flowers, but does not fruit well unless the conditions suit. This subspecies is from the Broome area, while ssp riparius covers the rest of the Kimberley.

A lot more information, here. Termite resistant very close-grained wood, making a good butcher’s block. Prized for firewood for it’s slow, long burning capacity.
